Evaluation of Nuclear Fuel Safety and Reliability Using Research Reactors' In-Core Experiments
Matocha, Vítězslav ; Foral, Štěpán (referee) ; Katovský, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is to show a connection among nuclear fuel safety, experiments led in research reactors and calculation codes. This thesis focuses on the calculation code Transuranus. There are represented four experiments, which were calculated in Transuranus. The fission gas release, elongation and growth of fuel were particularly monitored. Is is possible to set differences among versions v1m1j09 and v1m3j12 from achieved results, as well as the influence of selected Transuranus parameters on the results, so the thesis may bring new pieces of knowledge for improvement of safety analysis calculation by Transuranus.

Chmelařová, Eva ; Blažek, Jiří (advisor) ; Marek, David (referee)
Is there any link between hierarchy of transnational corporations, banks and research and development institutions? Abstract The world city theory focuses on concentration of the most progressive activities of the social-economic system in a few key cities that together have a major share of command and control power within the global economy. Location advantages of such cities attract TNC headquarters, financial services and R&D facilities. Interactions between them lead to further strengthening of the position of the global city and it brings a cumulative effect on the location advantages. This paper examines the global city hierarchy based on the data on 1 500 world's biggest companies headquarters location, as well as location of 1 500 most important R&D institutions and 200 biggest banks. According to the results the triad of New York, London and Tokyo was taken over by Beijing. Correlation analysis of the city rankings in all of the three hierarchies confirms significant geographical link between global arrangement of TNC headquarters, financial services and R&D institutions. Keywords: global city, TNCs, banks, RIS, research and development, geographical organization

Špaňhel, Miroslav ; Čadil, Vladislav (referee) ; Žížalová, Pavla (advisor)
The role of universities in regional development has changed over the last two decades. Current discussion in literature confronts universities with challenges related to an emergence of a third role, that should universities perform in regional innovation systems. It concerns regionally-oriented activities, through which universities are becoming the leaders of regional economic and social development. This concept is applied to a comparative case study of two different Czech regions, South Bohemia Region and Moravian - Silesian Region. The objective is to verify, if different regional circumstances leads to a different form and intensity of networking between academic and private sector, or whether the main factor influencing the role of the two Czech universities is a specific national context. Key words: universities, partnership with private sector, regional innovation systems, third role
